organic berries in chocolate coating

Organic strawberries, raspberries and cranberries in organic white, milk and dark chocolate. And the ingredients are fair trade. Sounds really good and healthy. So I gave it a try! Since I only knew grapes in chocolate coating.

I bought the “Naschfrüchte” from LANDGARTEN® at a wholefood shop, the packaging just attracted me. And I was curious to try the different chocolate berries. Interestingly they were quite fruity and not so tasteless like the other dry fruit products I know.

LANDGARTEN® is a modern bio-snack manufacturer and grew from a small farm in Austria to a company promissing high quality standards and sustainability from conviction. I will definitely try other products from LANDGARTEN®. Just imagine that they offer thirteen different “Naschfrüchte” and other products like gorp. all I want – update chocri

Well I totally forgot to tell you more about my chocri order. Wow I seriously love my individual bar creations. The order arrived just a few days later, which I think was as fast as possible. The bars arrived nicely packaged and I couldn’t wait to open and try my first own designed chocolate. I ordered four different bars, not only for me, but at least I got the chance to try all four of them!

chocri - individual choclateFirst of all they looked really good. Even though chocri uses Belgian chocolate they all looked incredible. The ingredients are on top of the chocolate bar. You may ad up to five different ingredients and it was hard enought regarding the hughe choise chocri offers. The website states that you have more than 27 billion possibilities.

Since white choclate is my favorit, I ordered three white chocolate bars.

 

  • one with gummy bears, rice crispies in chocolate coating
  • another one with strawberries and cranberries
  • and one with orange bits, raspberry and candied lilac
  • the fourth bar was a dark chocolate one with salt pretzels (real german), peanuts and sea salt.

All four of them are great, well the dark one was a great try but not as delicious as the others. I thought about creating my own chocolate at home, but I guess I could never have done this as good as chocri. chocri – individually me

I just saw “Charlie and the Choclate Factory” with Johnny Depp. And yes I would love to work at a chocolate factory, but only if snacking is allowed.

individual choclate barsAnyway this movie reminds me of the newspaper article I’ve read about this small German chocolate factory called chocri. I just checked out their German website www.chocri.de and ordered a few chocolates with my favorite ingredients. Okay, chocri does not produce with swiss chocolate, instead they use Belgian chocolate. We will see how that tastes like. But the idea to just individually create your own chocolate bar is marvelous. And furthermore recommended creations inspired me to try some new things. I am excited to test dark chocolate with chili, raspberry and almonds.

Black ‘n White

I never really liked Pick Up. This plain biscuit and rather hard chocolate just didn’t convince me. A few weeks ago however a friend of mine brought the new Pick Up to work and I have to say that this really made me curious. And of course: You shouldn’t judge anything if you didn’t try it. I had to buy this version.

It’s called Pick up Black ‘n White; Leibniz just turned the whole thing around. There is a chocolate biscuit and white choclate in between.

Let’s put it simple: I like it. A lot. It’s a nice snack, not too sweet. The white chocolate is a little creamy and the biscuit around it is quite crispy. I think Leibniz had a real idea when creating this new product.

Chococino – my new and favorit hot chocolate

We just got a Nescafé Dolce Gusto (“sweet taste” in Italian) for Christmas, one of those all-round talents for coffees, cold drinks like ice tea and hot chocolate.

Quite excited about the stylish machine I tried the Nescafé Nesquik capsule for hot chocolate. I love to drink the milk mix from Nesquike, but I really didn’t like the taste from this capsule. Consequently I switched to the real chocolate drink Chococino. First the chocolate capsule followed by 120 ml milk, the machine puts a pressure of 15 bar on the capsule and promises a great aroma through sophisticated technology.  And the Chococino really had the highly-flavored aroma of chocolate and topped with marshmallows it was as good as an ordinary prepared hot chocolate.

So this is a rather easy method to avoid the milk cooking and further work for a real self made hot chocolate. Good for the cold and lazy days…

Small Moments

Just tried the newcomer from Coppenrath & Wiese. The German cake manufactory is actually known for frozen cakes. Small moment is their first dessert available in four different flavors: cherry-truffle, raspberry -mascarpone, straweberries-stracciatella and chocolate mousse.

Inside the eye-catching box are two plastic glasses filled with chocolate mousse. The packaging promises a loose layer of white, dark and milk chocolate mousse, filled with crunchy Schokocrispies and an elegant chocolate décor. Well, it was as promised, but way to much chocolate and mousse. I am not a friend of creamy stuff, maybe the raspberry-mascarpone would have been a better choice for me.

Nevertheless a great idea and easy to prepare. Love, Natalie ♥

Cake heaven

I found something really great in the supermarket today. It’s a new product by Milka. Do you remember Milka tender? I love these little biscuit rolls. Now I found the whole cake: “Milka Tender chocolate cake”. Doesn’t that sound awesome?

When I took it out ouf the shelf I found the cake pretty heavy, which made me very happy. =) 400g of Milka Tender Cake! I couldn’t wait to get home and share it with my flatmates. I don’t want to waste to many words on the wrapper or anything. It is a simple Milka lastic wrapper; the cake lies on top a little cardboard plate.

The cake however is really great. There has been another taste; I chose (of course) chocolate. This is why my friends and I found chocolate dough and chocolate cream. It really is tender. It is fluffy and it is goood. I love sweet stuff and this really is.

Love at first sight

Folks, when I saw this offer from Milka in the supermarket I couldn’t wait to go home and try it. And so I didn’t… =) Like a kid in the supermarket I even opened the box before I paid! But honestly: Check it out, this is incredible! Looking like a chocolate bar in a cardboard box, it actually is some kind of cake. There were three kinds of cake I could choose from: There was a nut-pie, an almond-pie and a chocolate-pie (which is what I chose).

Inside the simple but still handsome wrapper you can find two extra little sacks. Each of them contains 60g of extremely good looking chocolate pieces that seem to be well-filled. The pictures on the box already reveals: it’ll be cake dough and chocolate cream… and it is. I don’t want to say a lot but: OMG! This is just amazing! You really have to try this yourself. For me this is one of the best things I have had in a long time. I love the idea of cake inside a chocolate shape; you’ve got small servings wrapped in tiny sacks. It is perfect for taking it with you on a daytrip or to eat it at uni. Everybody will be jealous, I swear! =P

It’s getting classy…

… I don’t know why, but I am in the mood for high class products at the moment. When I saw the Mozart Chocolate I knew this was exactly the right thing to buy.

Many things have been created to honor the achievements of the composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In Austria there are special Mozart-coins and -banknotes, there are stamps and not to forget the very famous Mozart balls (a specialty candy). This chocolate bar is from the same factory that created the Mozart balls; since I love the tiny delicacies very much, I guess the bar will be just great. It is filled with a marzipan from pistachios and hazelnut nougat cream….

As I said: the wrapper looks very expensive and precious, it’s the same when you open it. The chocolate is wrapped in golden foil! When you open it…. it gets ugly. On top, the chocolate is all grey and white. I have seen this before; what I thought: This choclate is very old. Checking the date of expiry however ensures me it should be still okay for months. I called a friend of mine, who is an expert for chocolates (not only in eating it, as I am…) and he told me this grayish layer on top most probably occurred because of wrong storage of the choclate. Due to a temperature that has been to high the containing cocoa oil somehow rose to the surface and stayed there. It doesn’t look very nice but everything is fine. And I can tell you, the taste is definitely fine. I love marzipan, I love pistachios and I love Mozart, too! =)

Let me introduce to you…

Do you know Mr. Tom? It is this amazing bar made out of peanuts and is coated with caramel. I love this very combination! Now that I found Mr. Tom Chocolate in the kiosk, of course I couldn’t help but buying it. Again we have roasted peanuts here; they are covered in milk chocolate. The design of the wrapper is not very cool or trendy but in this case I don’t really care about that. It is kind of retro and reminds me of the peanut-caramel-bar. =)

Trying the chocolate I am a little disappointed. The chocolate coating isn’t really creamy and it also seems not to be very fresh. The peanuts are chopped into very small pieces, so the whole experience of biting whole nuts in two (as you have it when eating the bar) is gone. For me product is a fail; I wouldn’t buy it again.
